Synopsis: Arrow – 4×03 ‘Restoration’

The CW has released the official synopsis for “Restoration,” the forthcoming third episode of Arrow’s fourth season.

“Restoration” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, LV) (HDTV)

LAUREL TAKES HER SISTER TO NANDA PARBAT — The growing tension between Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Diggle (David Ramsey) puts both their lives at risk when they go after Damien Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough) and a H.I.V.E. deployed meta-human. Meanwhile, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) talks Thea (Willa Holland) into returning to Nanda Parbat to ask her father (John Barrowman) to put Sara (guest star Caity Lotz) into the Lazarus Pit. However, Laurel is surprised when Nyssa (guest star Katrina Law) refuses to do it. Wendey Stanzler directed the episode written by Wendy Mericle & Speed Weed (#403).

Stephen Amell Says CW DC Series Are “Basically One Show”

In a sixteen minute live Q&A on facebook, Stephen Amell talked a bit about the new season of Arrow, and what to expect. But first, with the DC Universe on The CW growing to three series this year, fans were wondering about how much crossover there’d be between them.

“It’s basically one show,” Amell said of Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, and Arrow. “The universe now, as it exists, is basically one show.” That seems to indicate there will be a lot of crossover in and out, but the traditional mid-season crossover is coming, too. Amell said they just wrapped episode 407 (directed by fight choreographer James Bamford, so expect some big action there), and were “ramping up to the crossover with The Flash.”

As for Supergirl, Amell is game, but cautioned he doesn’t know about the ins and outs of a cross-network crossover. “Nothing is ever impossible, but I certainly don’t think anything is planned.”

The CW has released the official synopsis for “The Candidate,” the forthcoming second episode of Arrow’s fourth season.

JERI RYAN GUEST STARS; INTRODUCING ECHO KELLUM — When an old family friend, Jessica Danforth (guest star Jeri Ryan), tells Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Thea (Willa Holland) that she is going to run for mayor, both Queens are concerned considering the last three mayors have been murdered. Despite their protests, Jessica makes her announcement so the Green Arrow and Speedy vow to protect her. Meanwhile, Thea begins to exhibit effects from the Lazarus Pit. In addition, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) is faced with a tough business decision and looks to one of her employees, Curtis Holt (guest star Echo Kellum), for help. John Behring directed the episode written by Marc Guggenheim & Keto Shimizu (#402).

Video: ‘Arrow’ Deleted Scene: With Enemies Like These, Who Needs Friends?

A deleted scene from the Arrow Season 3 DVD set — out Sept. 22 — contains an interesting tidbit from early in the season that gets Oliver and Maseo (Karl Yune) a little too close to comfort.

In Episode 2 of the season, Tommy (Colin Donnell) comes to Hong Kong on a tip that his best friend may still be alive. Oliver is ordered to assassinate him, but instead he kidnaps him and tricks him into giving up the search.

The moment between Oliver and Maseo in the deleted scene is sweet — “True friends are hard to come by in this world,” says Maseo — but it makes sense that it wouldn’t make it to air. Much of the tension from the Hong Kong flashbacks comes from two often opposing desires: Oliver’s need to escape and Maseo’s need to keep his family safe. Creating such a close bond that early would have made those scenes a little duller and maybe even cheapened the sacrifice Maseo is forced to make later in the season.
